University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) is a practice-oriented educational centre for engineers and an important partner in applied research and development for industry and trade. The competencies of the FHNW institutes encompass a wide spectrum with a focus on networked and mobile software and information systems. In the area of applied research and development, the School of Engineering collaborates with businesses and other tertiary institutions in Switzerland and in many other countries of the world. FHNW is experienced and well networked in innovation, engineering, and evaluation of complex, mission-critical systems. The FHNW School of Engineering is a respected partner in international projects such as EU H2020 SUPERSEDE (Evolution and Adaptation of Personalized Software), EU H2020 FLARECAST (Sun Flar Likelihood and Region Eruption Forecasting), ESA JHELIOVIEWER (Visualization of Image Data of the Sun), EU FP7 HESPE (High Energy Solar Physics Data in Europe), EU FP7 CASSIS (Integration of Solar System Infrastructures and Science), and EU FP7 HELIO (Heliophysics Integrated Observatory).
The FHNW School of Engineering brings in Wise IoT an extended experience in international research and innovation projects and leading position in international conferences such as in the IEEE International and European Requirements Engineering Conferences RE15.org and RefsQ.org. FHNW leads the requirements assessment and the self-adaptive recommendation system tasks. FHNW will facilitate requirements workshops with project partners and develop an integrated recommender service for supporting users in exploiting the services offered by the IoT system in a personalized, adaptive manner.
